We wanted deep snow for our shelter building, so we headed up to Grey County to visit an old friend of the group, Hildegard.
The snow was already at least waist deep in most places and we got a bonus blizzard on Sat. morning.

The first job is to dig out a coffin sized trench in the snow. Max is checking the size so it's not too big.

Then you have to cover the top with a layer of sticks to hold up the snow.

Now you just pile about two feet of snow on top to create a cave-like shelter.
