Endobannah Food Prep

Nov. 2004

Proper survival instruction requires lessons on preparing, cleaning and cooking food.

Seeing the path which food takes, from living to plate, creates a deeper understanding and reverence for the food which we eat daily.

Rich and Michael dug the hole for the pit cooking.

The pit was lined with rocks and a hot fire was built on top.

One duck was placed in the pit, while the other was used to prepare a stew.

The respect for food and animal life was very important to this lesson, so animals were killed quickly and efficiently.

The hot rocks baked the duck for 4 hours, with a tender and tasty result.
